August 2019 saw the launch of the world's first ever Afrobeats Festival and I decided to write about the Black Christian Community's unsupportive response to this history-making event.

I had the opportunity to attend the Black Panther UK Premiere and I wrote about how much Pride it gave me as a Nigerian-British woman being in a room full of other Black British creatives, watching something for our community.

Having lived in Nottingham for almost 6 years I've played with the idea of moving. Back to London, to another city and to another country even. Whilst I'm unsure of whether l'll still be living here this time next year, I decided to take the time to explore the city I'm calling home, through paintings.

I wrote this for gal-dem after a student in Kent was told by her teacher to take her braids out. I interviewed her mum and spoke to the headteacher about the anti-blackness embedded in the school rules. 

I wrote this for gal-dem after I went to a staff BBQ one weekend which made me think about my Britishness and my blackness.

Beyonce's 2016 Album, Lemonade had a big impact on how I saw myself from a non-biblical perspective. It inspired me to continue to be be the unapologetic, loud and creative woman that I am and to continue to bask in all my black girl magic. So. I decided to write about it for the awesome gal-dem magazine.
